The event takes place during the 12 days before and after Pentecost (t49 days after Easter). This period is called "5th season" by the locals. Beer is served in 1L (33 US ounces) stoneware jugs on wooden tables. The festival is held under the trees of "Berg", small and wooded hill with old beer cellars (caves) owned by local breweries. The caves extend for 21 km (14 ml) throughout the hill and maintain constant cool underground temperature.
