Oksfjord is a port town in Loppa municipality (Finnmark, Norway). The town has population around 500 and is the municipality's administrative centre. Oksfjord is located at the mouth of Oksfjorden, approx 20 km (12 ml) northwest of Oksfjordbotn village (at the fjord's other end).
Oksfjord is one of the Hurtigruten ports along the "Express Route" (Norwegian Coastal Express). This is a regularly scheduled ferry and cruise itinerary in Norway, between the turnaround ports Bergen (southmost) and Kirkenes (northmost). Hurtigruten ships stop here between their calls at Hammerfest and Skjervoy.
Historically, the village was an important regional fishing settlement, Until the 1980s, here functioned two factories - one fish processing and one for fish oil. Town's main bussiness today is fish farming. Oksfjord has the Loppa's main church.
Since most of Loppa is inaccessible by car, Oksfjord is a major transportation hub with car ferry connections to Nuvsvag, Sor-Tverrfjord and Bergsfjord. There is a regularly scheduled ferry service to Hasvik (on Soroya island).
