Port Townsend is a city in Jefferson County (Washington USA), with population around 9,000 and total area approx 25 km2 (10 mi2).
The town is popular among tourists for its Victorian-style architecture (from late 19th century), annual cultural events, center for boatbuilders and maritime-related crafts and industries, Port Townsend Historic District is a US National Historic Landmark District.
In addition to road links to the west and south, the town is easily accessible via WSDOT ferries (Washington State Ferry system). Currently, ferries depart from Port Townsend ferry terminal to Coupeville WA (Whidbey Island).
The largest employers are Port Townsend Paper Company and Jefferson Healthcare. Other major industries include maritime trades, tourism, timber, manufacturing.
