Porto Santo Stefano is a port town located on Monte Argentario peninsula (southern Tuscany, Italy). It is region's biggest town, served by ferries to Tuscan islands. This resort town is located approx 40 km (25 ml) southeast of Grosseto, 10 km (6 ml) southwest of Orbetello and 12 km (8 ml) from Porto Ercole.

The region is popular for its unspoiled beaches and nature reserve. In ancient times, the area was an island that later became joined to mainland Italy by 3 sand bars (today separated by lagoons and covered in woodland). On peninsula's northern coast  is Porto Ercole, while Orbetello is on the central isthmus, between two lagoons. The southern connecting isthmus is the Tombolo nature reserve featuring a bike path. From here tourists can access one of the quietest beaches along the Italian coast. Among the popular tourist attractions is also the annually held Palio Marinaro (4-km rowing regatta) in August.

Porto Santo Stefano cruise terminal

Porto Santo Stefano has 2 port harbors - Porto Vecchio and Porto del Valle. Regularly scheduled ferries connect to Giglio Island, where Costa Concordia capsized on January 13, 2012. Many of the liner's passengers and crew were evacuated on these ships.
