Yichang is an Yangtze River cruise port and a prefecture-level city located in the China's Hubei province. It's the 2nd largest city (population over 4 million) in the province after the capital, Wuhan. Three Gorges Dam is located within its administrative area.

  • Maoping Town (county seat of Zigui County) features an active passenger wharf.
  • Qing River in the prefecture's southern part is also an important waterway.
  • Yichang is an important river port on Yangtze river. It has long been a prime transit port and distribution center of goods. It serves as the economic hub of western Hubei province and intermediary between major cities of Wuhan and Chongqing.
  • The city's primary industries are shipbuilding and shipping, taking advantage of its location on Yangtze River.
