Review of Belmond Road to Mandalay

One of the largest Irrawaddy River cruise ships, Belmond Road to Mandalay's itinerary offers access to unique places in Myanmar (Burma) in a traditional "Orient-Express" style.

Originally built in Germany (launched 1964 as a Rhine River cruiser), the vessel was later purchased and refurbished by the travel company Orient-Express (today Belmond Ltd). After the acquisition, it was transported to Myanmar and since 1995 operates on Irrawaddy River Itineraries varying from 3 to 11 nights. Roundtrip departures are from Yangon (Rangoon), and shorter segments offer disembarkation in Mandalay.

English-, German-, Spanish- and French-speaking tour guides are available, too.
