Review of Emerald Liberte

Emerald Waterways is a new river line, established in 2014 and owned by Scenic Tours company. Like the new longships of Viking River Cruises, the innovations onboard Emerald Waterways ships make these vessels an alternative to ocean cruise vacations. Emerald Destiny adds more choices of itineraries and sailing dates for the aficionados of European luxury river cruise ship travel – an all-inclusive style.

Launched in April 2017 (currently under construction), Emerald Liberte has been custom-built for Southern France itineraries from Lyon to Avignon. The ship provides authentic experiences cruising through France along Rhone and Saone rivers. The standards of service, knowledge of wine and attention to food you’d expect in France are sewn into the very essence of Emerald Liberte.

With a capacity of 138 passengers and cutting-edge amenities, Emerald Liberte represents river cruising's next generation. The Mediterranean climate provides the best opportunity to enjoy the open-air amenities of ship's Sun Deck. The top deck of Emerald Liberte features a large area to relax, enjoy a barbecue or sink balls on the putting green. The retractable glass roof winds back to reveal a beautiful swimming pool, so guests can enjoy the gentle river breeze.

The popular Horizon Bar & Lounge has been added to Emerald Liberte, providing an after-dinner retreat. A comprehensive selection of spa facilities and gym equipment are available in the wellness and fitness areas.
