Review of RV Thurgau Exotic 3
RV Thurgau Exotic 3 is a charming Irrawaddy river cruise ship with itineraries in Burma, between Mandalay and Rangoon / Yangon. Just like her sister ships, RV Thurgau Exotic 1 and RV Thurgau Exotic 2, this riverboat is elegantly designed, with Burma's colonial era ambience, furnished with quality furniture, local hardwoods and original artwork. The onboard atmosphere is friendly and informal, promising comfortable exploration.
The riverboat's dining room is spacious and seats all guests in a single open seating arrangement. It affords panoramic views and is originally fashioned in wooden furnishings and artwork. There is buffet-style breakfast, whereas lunch and dinner are waiter-served and offer a fusion of western and Asian cuisine. Vegetarian dishes are always offered and a fresh salad bar is arranged at lunch. Complimentary coffee and tea are available from 6:00 a.m. on the sun deck throughout the day. Local mineral water is provided daily in all cabins. Additional bottles are provided on request. Soft drinks, wine, beer and alcoholic drinks are not included in the cruise fare but available as an addition.
Thurgau Exotic 3 sun deck is equipped with comfortable reclining chairs, a self service coffee and tea counter and a bar from where travelers can watch the world go by, passing ever changing landscapes. The covered observation area allows for the river breeze so passengers can take in beautiful landscapes away from daytime sun. There is a library onboard with a selection of English books. The small boutique offers a collection of local (handmade) souvenirs, handicrafts, post cards, a limited selection of toiletries.
