After a 2-year absence, Viking River Cruises returns to Ukraine in 2016 with a Dnieper River cruise.

The 10-night itinerary called "Kiev to the Black Sea" is slated for May and June next year. It will be offered on the 196-passegenger ship Viking Sineus, built 1979. Last year, the vessel was refurbished and changed her name from Viking Lomonosov.

Three days in beautiful Kiev, Ukraine's capital, and four in Odessa, situated on the Black Sea, are included in the voyage. Viking Sineus will call at Kremenchug, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye (ancestral home of Cossacks) and Kherson along her way.

Odessa does not fall into Crimean region, annexed by Russia in 2014. In July 2015, the U.S.State Department released a travel warning for Ukraine. The affected areas were Crimea and Donetsk and Luhansk eastern regions.
