  June 2011Cruise Illness / Norovirus Outbreaks

On June 19, 2011, about 100 passengers suffered food poisoning (Norovirus / gastrointestinal illness outbreak) during a roundtrip cruise from Singapore to Vietnam. The cause for the incident was infected food picked up from a roadside stall.

All sick experienced Noro virus symptoms (predominantly vomiting and diarrhoea, also fever and stomach cramps) and were quarantined to their cabins for the rest of the voyage.

  13 April 2009Crew / Passenger Deaths

(overboard) On April 13, 2009, at ~10 am, two cruise passengers (married couple from Singapore) were reported missing and presumed fell overboard. The 49-year-old male passenger was lost at sea (the body was never found). The woman was rescued.

They accidentally fell overboard (from some 20 m / 65 ft into the water) while the cruise vessel was approx 28 km / 17 ml south of Pulau Kendi Island.
