Lido Deck (P&O Pacific Dawn ship)

The fore-located Navigation Bridge and the adjacent Captain’s Suite and officers quarters are inaccessible to passengers.

“Salt Grill” is a specialty restaurant (75-seat, at surcharge PP) run by celebrity chef Luke Mangan (reservations required, closed on port days). It can be booked for dinner between 5.30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. On sea days it is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (US$39) and high tea from 3:00 p.m. (US$20). Dinner menu includes 1 starter, such as oysters or tapas (US$2 each) and sophisticated salads, raw dishes, or dishes like tempura prawns or 5 spice cured duck, with almond dressing, golden beetroot, baby lettuce and crisp pancetta. The main dish can be selected from 4 types like Australian lamb chops, 300g scotch fillets, 200g tenderloin steaks, BBQ Cajun-spiced baby chicken/pork cutlets with the option choose from multiple side dishes. Four fish dishes are also available to choose from: ocean trout, barramundi, tuna and snapper with a surcharge of US$22 for a roasted lobster tail. The 8 desserts include the floating island, with fresh fruit and berries, Frangelico Anglaise and chef's liquorice parfait. 

“The Cafe” bar serves the pool area with light snacks, drinks, and a range of coffees from 6:30 AM. After 10 AM, guests can order wine (by the glass) or cold beer. The comfy couches make it lovely to relax up until 10:30 PM.

At the “Aqua Hut” guests can hire snorkelling equipment for their shore tours. Also available for purchasing here is “Tabata” quality snorkel gear.

The Pacific Dawn ship’s pool area has 2 large swimming pools with 2 whirlpools. The area is served by the Lido Pool Bar, “The Grill” (complimentary fast food choices with AU BBQ fare /charges apply at dinner, after 5pm, offers casual meals like a chorizo and egg roll, bacon and egg roll, pulled pork burger, beef burger, hot dog, pie with mash and peas/ all US$3 each, pepperoni, Margherita, Aussie pizzas/ all US$9.50 each) and the NZ Ice Cream Bar (“New Zealand Natural” quality ice cream, also offering the P&O AU line’s “Choc Hokey Pokey” flavour /charges apply). In the evenings, here are organized open-air deck parties. The Lido Bar is the largest onboard Pacific Dawn as well as one of the most popular. Wine, beer, spirits and cocktails are served from 10:00 a.m. until late in the evening. The range of seating includes soft-foam benches, chaise lounges, and some swinging hammocks. 

P&O Edge (level 1 of 2)

“The Pantry” is the ship’s lido buffet restaurant / marketplace with 9 fresh food outlets, international cuisine. Dining times at the Pantry Restaurant vary (sea / port days): breakfast (6:30-11am / 6-11am), lunch (11:30am-2:30pm / 11:30am-3pm), dinner (5-9pm). The buffet has its own bar for drinks (The Pantry Bar, serving soft drinks, red and white wines, a few spirits, espresso-style coffee), also stage for live performances and a dance floor. Breakfast includes baked beans, pancakes, bacon and eggs. Spanish baked eggs, pre-made omelettes, fruit, yoghurt, sauteed spinach, cereal and toast are also offered. At lunch and dinner, the outlets include McGregor's Garden (salads), Stix (stir fry), Mexicana (tacos and burritos), Curry House, Hook's (fish & chips), Nic & Toni's (Italian), Fat Cow (carvery), Kettle & Bun (soups & sandwiches), and Sugar Bar (desserts). All menus are changed on a daily basis. In the evenings, a 10th venue called Shell & Bones, set up behind a curtain, is turned into a la carte restaurant. A kids' dinner for guests aged between 3 and 10 years is held at 4:15 p.m. every day, with highchairs available upon request. 

The “Shell & Bones” (a la carte pricing) opens daily between 5:30-9 PM. The menu features dishes like Portuguese-style roast chicken, Singapore-style crab (US$25), hot seafood extravaganza (US$50 for 2). Sides like garlic bread, potato wedges and grilled corn cobettes are complimentary as are the kids' options of fish fingers or seafood party plate. One dessert is only offered: apple and rhubarb crumble with New Zealand Natural ice cream (US$9) designed to share.
