Viking Orient (built 2011, last refurbished in 2014) is the second of the two newbuilt Viking River Cruises Irrawaddy ships – together with Viking Mandalay. The list of other Burma river cruise ships also includes AmaPura. The Irrawaddy River cruise ship Orient is also one of the four Viking ships in Asia – adding Viking Emerald and Viking Mekong. The Orient ship cruise itinerary is called “Memories of Mandalay”, with a duration of 16 days, and 14 guided land tours on Irrawaddy River (in Thailand and Myanmar/Burma). There are also 3 included in the Irrawaddy cruise prices flight transfers- from/to Bangkok, and from Yangon to Mandalay for embarkation.
Viking Orient cruise ship deck plan has a total of 30 staterooms for 60 passengers served by 30 crew/staff (English-speaking), 2 passenger decks, no elevator(s). Each cruise stateroom features a window and a door which opens to a shared (not private) terrace. Both cabin decks (Middle and Upper) have an open-air wraparound promenade deck space.
