Aigues-Mortes is a Rhone River cruise port and town in France's Gard department (Occitanie region) with population around 9,000. The town is best-known for its perfectly preserved surrounding medieval city walls. Aigues-Mortes is located approx 90 km (56 ml) northwest of Marseille (on the French Riviera), approx 33 km (21 ml) southwest of Nimes (Gard department's capital city) and approx 20 km (12 ml) east of Montpellier (Herault department's capital).

The town is also part of France's Petite Camargue (natural region south of Arles and between Mediterranean Sea and Rhone River Delta) featuring as scenery wet plains and lakes. It is separated from Mediterranean Sea by Gulf of Lions but is also connected to the sea via Canal du Rhone a Sete that links Retang de Thau lagoons (Sete) with Rhone River (at Beaucaire). The canal enters the town from northwest and two branches intersect it before exiting (as a single waterway) and flowing into Mediterranean Sea. A railway from Nimes also passes through (northeast to southwest, with a train station in Aigues-Mortes) and links to the coastal terminus Le-Grau-du-Roi. This railway is used for both passenger and sea salt transportation.

As cruise port, Aigues-Mortes is included in the regular schedule of the luxury hotel barge Anne Marie. The boat is owned and operated by one of Europe's largest river cruise companies - CroisiEurope. Next table shows the ports sequence of barge ship's 6-day itinerary between homeports Sete and Arles, with prices from ~USD 2000 per person (double occupancy cabin rates).
