Corpach is a cruise port and a large village (population under 1,000) located just 4 mi (7 km) north of Fort William. Corpach's canal lock (on Loch Linnhe) is the Caledonian Canal's western sea entrance. The port has a natural harbour. From Corpach is offered bus travel excursion to Glenfinnan hamlet.

As cruise port, Corpach is included in the regular schedule of the ship Lord of the Glens operated by the small company Hebridean Island Cruises (UK). The 7-day itinerary "Heart of the Highlands" is roundtrip from Inverness, with prices starting from ~GBP 1850 (EUR 2020 / USD 2450) per person with double occupancy. Pricing is inclusive of all shore excursions, port fees and taxes, from/to Inverness transfers.

On Day 8's morning, cruisers disembark in Kyle of Lochalsh and are bused back to Inverness.

Via A830 Road, Corpach is connected to Loch Eil, Glenfinnan and Mallaig. The village developed greatly in the 1970s after the opening of the local Pulp and Paper Mill (sawmill which supplied with timber the building industry) and a boatbuilding yard. The village's current-day economy is largely based on shipping and tourism. For 2021 was planned the inauguration of the Thomas Telford Corpach Marina (boat docking facility with capacity 40 slots/berths and a coffee shop).

Among the seasonally visiting tourists, Corpach is popular with its numerous bunkhouses, guesthouses and B&Bs, shops, hotel, the gemstone museum "Treasures of the Earth". Approx 2 mi (3 km) from Corpach is Linnhe Holidays (on Loch Eil) which is popular among holiday tourists as one of Scotland's prettiest recreational parks.
