Edfu (aka Idfu) is a Nile River cruise port and city in Egypt, located between Aswan and Esna, and with population around 60,000. Edfu is famous with the Temple of Horus and the Tell Edfu settlement. Remains of ancient pyramids are located about 5 km (3 ml) north of Idfu.
Facing towards the river, Edfu Temple of Horus was built from large sandstone blocks during the Cleopatra's reign. This is the Egypt's most completely preserved temple.
