Hyannis is a Cape Cod cruise port and town (part of Barnstable) in Massachusetts USA (Barnstable County) with population around 15,000. Barnstable Town's total population is around 45,000.

Hyannis is Cape Cod region's main seaport, commercial and transportation hub, and has most of Barnstable Town's offices and shopping districts. In Hyannis is also the Main Street (Barnstable's historic downtown) and Route 132 Commercial District. Major businesses in Hyannis MA include Cape Cod Mall (1970-opened, 82 stores), Independence Park Inc (the industrial lease properties north of Cape Cod Gateway Airport/Municipal Airport, aka Polando Field), Cape Cod Potato Chips (1980-founded, headquartered here), Cape Cod Hospital (1920-opened, Cape Cod's largest medical facility with 280+ beds), Barnstable High School (1889-established, Cape Cod's largest).

Most popular tourist attractions include Hyannis Harbor (cruises are scheduled daily), Kennedy Compound (in Hyannis Port/3 houses on 6-acres waterfront property along Nantucket Sound), John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum (at 397 Main Street). From Hyannis is operated daily-scheduled (year-round) passenger and vehicle ferry service to Nantucket MA (2,5-hour crossing time). Cape Cod Island can also be accessed by a passenger-only catamaran ferry (1-hour crossing) run seasonally (by Steamship Authority) and year-round (by Hy-Line Cruises). Hy-Line also offers seasonal catamaran service to Martha's Vineyard Island. The Hyannis-Nantucket ferry service is operated since 1956.

Barnstable Municipal Airport (Polando Field) is Cape Cod's main airport, connecting with daily-scheduled flights Barnstable with Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, Boston, Provincetown, NYC New York. The flights are operated year-round (by Cape Air) and seasonally (by JetBlue).
