Kahului is a port town and CDP (census-designated place) on Maui Island and part of in Maui County (Hawaii USA) with population around 27,000. In Kahului are Maui Island's main airport (Kahului Airport), as well as light industrial areas, deep-water harbor port and commercial shopping centers. Wailuku is Maui County's seat.
Kahului is the retail center for Maui residents, with several major stores and malls (including department stores in Queen Kaahumanu Center). Other large stores are located in Lahaina - including Lahaina Cannery Mall, Happy Valley area of Wailuku, Maui Mall, Maui Market Place (both also located in Kahului), as well as The Shops at Wailea.
Kahului is not commonly considered a tourist destination. Points of interest in Kahului include Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum in Pu'unene, located nearby; Kanaha Beach County Park; Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary; Maui Nui Botanical Gardens; Maui Arts and Cultural Center; Tasaka Guri-Guri - famous for its "guri-guri" frozen dessert.
As facilities, Port Kahului features 1 Ro-Ro ramp, 1 Loading Dock, Fueling Dock (cargo terminal), dedicated Cruise Ship Dock. Among the largest cruise companies visiting Kahului are Carnival and NCL-Norwegian. Containership services are provided by Pasha Hawaii - a company specializing in Mainland USA-Hawaii shipping (TEU-containers, vehicle and oversize cargo), also providing integrated transportation and storage-logistics services. Another major company presented at Port Kahului is Matson Navigation Company (established in 1882) which also provides top-quality ocean shipping services.

Port Kahului is Maui Island's principal seaport serving both passenger and cargo shipping vessels. Town's waterfront is lined up with ships and sailboats. Sand beaches are located east of downtown.
The cruise ship dock is on island's east side. The docking pier is located in an industrial zone. Maui Mall Center Court also houses the "Maui Cruise N' Crafts Fair", located within short walking distance (just across the street) from the Kahului cruise port terminal. Maui Cruise N' Crafts Fair is designed to give cruise ship tourists a taste of the island. The unique experience is provided by various local vendors offering hand-made Hawaiian art and crafts. Fair's themed offers include Local Photography, Local Jewelries, Hand Blown Glass (by Maui artists), Brass Art, Reef Safe (sunscreen products), Hawaiian T-Shirts and Hats, Sunglasses, Vintage Hawaiian Maps, Conch Shells, Aloha Bags and Shirts, Tiki Carver, Tapa Cloths, Hawaii-made Soaps and Pillow Cases, live music performances.
