New Bedford is a port city in Massachusetts USA, with population around 95,000, ranking it state's 6th-largest. In the 19th century, the town was nicknamed "The Whaling City" being one of the world's largest whaling ports, along with Nantucket MA and New London CT. The Providence-Fall River-New Bedford metro area has USA's the largest Portuguese-American community.
