  Port Map

Soller is a port town on Mallorca/Majorca Island (in Spain's Balearic Islands region) with population around 15,000. The town is approx 3 km (2 mi) from Port de Soller (coastal village), directly connected via Tranvia de Soller (a heritage tramway/1913-opened, line length 4,9 km/3 mi, single-track, with 12 operational streetcars, speed 25 kph/16 mph). Tranvia de Soller is one of only two original tramways in Spain - along with Tramvia Blau in Barcelona.

As cruise port, Soller is visited by luxury ships and superyachts operated by ultra-premium companies like Seabourn, Silversea, Scenic, Crystal, Ritz-Carlton. The coastal village Port de Soller (part of the town) is a seaside resort with luxury residents, shops, bars and restaurants, holiday hotels (the largest are Eden, Esplendido, Aimia), boat/yacht Marina, two lighthouses, beaches. Cruise passengers are disembarked from the ship (anchored at sea) via its tender boats and transported to Marina Tramontana.

Soller is also directly linked to Palma de Mallorca by Ferrocarril de Soller (1911-opened historic railway) and also by the Andratx-Pollenca highway (with a tunnel). The town's economy is largely based on tourism and foreign residents, and partially on agriculture (citrus and olive groves). The town is also famous for its scenic location - surrounded by Vall de Soller (valley) and Serra de Tramuntana (mountain range) that runs southwest-northeast and forms the island's northern backbone.

Soller's best-known tourist attractions are Placa Constitucio (downtown's square surrounded by cafes and shops), Sant Bartomeu church (St Bartholomew), the historic Town Hall, Banco de Soller (17th-18th-century building with prominent ironwork), historic houses (16th-18th-centuries), a covered market (bisected by a river with several bridges), Jardi Botanic (botanical garden), El Museu Balear de Ciencies Naturals (Balearic Natural Sciences Museum). Annually (in July) the town hosts the week-long Sa Mostra International Folklore Festival.
