Our Second Carnival Cruise
Together with my wife, we enjoyed our second Carnival cruise. We had a cove balcony near the waterline and the steward was very helpful. The staff were very nice and always kept our room clean. Embarkation and check-in were smooth. I recommend picking the earlier check-in time to avoid long lines. What you need is a birth certificate if your cruise originates and ends in the same US port and goes anywhere in Mexico, Honduras, Belize, and the Caribbean. The ship was full of the standard entertainment. I.e. comedians and dance shows. We enjoyed the 15-minute laser light shows that were set to rock music by classic bands. The daily shows were offered on the outdoor movie screen on Deck 12, where we could catch concerts and films. The Fun Hub was very helpful to interact with shipmates and access info about onboard dining and ports of call. My wife loved the indoor-outdoor Lanai on the Promenade deck, which stretches from one side of the Dream to the other and offered two hot tubs cantilevered out over the rail, along with a bar and a café. I had to pay extra for WiFi mainly for email and banking. The connection intermittent most of the time and I could not connect to banking even though the Value option claimed it did. Those who purchased the Premium package also had troubles with connectivity. I don't think I'll ever buy the WiFi again mainly because it was too slow.
