I just got home after 3 days aboard this vessel. It exceeded my expectations. This does not seem like some tired old ship. The ship is VERY CLEAN it is well maintained, the crew was actively cleaning as we were cruising but they did so with consideration to guests. The friendliness of the entire crew just blew me away. You have to understand, this is likely a very low budget ship, i dont know their salaries but this crew was super professional and well mannered, from the officers to the attendants. Food was decent. There was some items on the buffet that were not so good but there was PLENTY to choose from that was also VERY good. Keep in mind this cruise in the middle of the week had about 300-400 pax so only about 1/4th full. If this ship ever has a full passenger cruise it is going to feel very cramped. The spaces are not going to be 'comfortably' big enough for 1500-1800 pax, just making a note of that as an opinion. I love how this size ship still gives you the option to get all kinds of free food around the clock, from Buffet to basic hot dogs and burgers, icecream etc. You also have the option to buy custom made quality fresh pizza's for room service or anywhere on the ship. You also have the admirals lounge and a steak dining room for a quality dining experience. That costs about $30-50 per person i think it was, totally worth it because they cater to you like a fine restaurant and you have the place to yourself practically. Entertainment was decent. There was at least two small bands that would play around the different lounges in the evening and they were great! I have to say Sax and Songs was a stand out, the singer had a great voice and the sax player was top notch, and this is all free entertainment. Also free was the big show in the evening at the spacious (for 400 passengers) theater. If this ship was fully loaded the theater would not be big enough, just noting that. Anyways, the theater is clean and looks fantastic. All the views seemed good except for the glass on the balcony i wish it didnt block the view as much but thats for safety and this is a 33year old ship so its all good. The performers were pretty good, not the best performance i have seen on a ship but this is a young group of college kids dancing and singing their hearts out. They put on good shows and its free. Room was basic and clean. Exterior Windows needed washing. Room service was very helpful. The bathroom was outstanding. The layout of the bathroom is perfect, its very clean and looks like it would be a 5 year old bathroom not from 1986. So they did a good job of keeping these rooms up to par. The spa looked nice but it didnt seem used much at all. I did not see the fitness center, i dont now if there is one. Shore excursion options were nice however they did not have an option for all access ship tour which was a big bummer to me because i love to tour ships and learn about them. The glass bottom boat excursion was A+++ you have got to see it to believe it. Others i was with said this excursion blew away other glass bottom boat excursions they did in mexico. They fed sharks, glass was clean, clear water could see all the coral reefs, all the fish, it was a sight to see. I mean when 15 sharks are just 5 feet away from you thrashing around to eat the fish our handlers were feeding them, that was once in a lifetime type thing to see. It was all controlled and you were safe as well. Just a fantastic job. Anyways i saw about two dozen shore excursion options. The coolest part about this trip is you have the option to stay in Grand Bahama resort instead of going back on the ship. You just go back to the ship the next time it comes into port which is every other day. Yeah, that means Grand Celebration is like a Bahama ferry but thats also what makes it so cool, you have that option, unlike most other cruise lines!! You get what you pay for and then some with this company and ship. Bahama Paradise i think gives great deals to solo travelers. Their prices are reasonable and their website always had some kind of deal going on. I spent $240 for this 3 day (2 full days on ship) cruise which included a lot of stuff. When you add up all you can do on the ship, the great crew, the options i mentioned above i think this is a great bargain. Anyways I enjoyed the short trip and loved the ship. I just got home and could not wait to talk about it here. Next i want to try Grand Classica.
