Carnival Liberty Returns to Galveston After Child Is Injured

Carnival Liberty briefly returned to her homeport in Galveston TX after a 3-year-old kid was injured. A young girl was posing with her family for a photo on a flight of stairs. The child then slipped through one of the railings and fell down to deck 12 from deck 14. The kid was injured and taken to ship’s medical center.

The medical staff took a decision to transfer the girl for further medical care to a land Hospital. As a result Carnival Liberty returned to Galveston at around 8 p.m. on Monday, June 13. The vessel was met by an ambulance. Carnival Cruise Line said the kid was alert and stable.

When the young girl was injured, the 110,000 GT ship had just started a 5-night Western Caribbean cruise. Carnival Liberty is scheduled to call at Progreso and Cozumel in Mexico before arriving back in Galveston June 18. Currently, the ship is back at sea resuming her regular service.
