On July 18, 2016, a male crew slipped and fell on the ship due to improperly disposed of grease in the galley (ship's kitchen). The man was working on the boat as a chef.

On November 29, 2016, he filed a lawsuit against American Cruise Lines, claiming that after the fall he sustained injuries resulting in physical and mental pain, disability, loss of income, medical expenses.
