  14 June 2018Structural and Technical Issues

On June 14, 2018, the operated by FTI Cruises ship arrived in call port Dublin (Ireland) where remained docked for 3 days. The delay was due to technical issue wit hone of the ship's all 14 lifeboats (boat 6), which malfunctioned during port authorities inspection done on June 14.

The accident resulted in delayed departure and itinerary changes (cancelled last port of call along the current itinerary). All passengers were finally disembarked in Dublin (on June 17) and flown (free of charge) to homeport Bremerhaven (Germany). As compensation, all passengers received EUR 250 per person in onboard credit and all pre-booked shore excursions were fully refunded.

New passengers embarkation was also in Dublin (on June 18) with all FTI customers being flown to Dublin from Bremerhaven.

  12 January 2011Pirates / Terrorist Attacks

(MS Spirit of Adventure) On January 12, 2011, while navigating in the Indian Ocean (along East Africa's coast / between Madagascar and Zanzibar), the ship was attacked by pirate boats. Fortunately, the vessel managed to outrun and escape the attackers.

  10 October 2008Ship Collision / Allision

(MS Spirit of Adventure) On October 10, 2008, the ship hit the quay / docking pier in call port Kepez (Canakkale, Turkey). The accident occurred after the assisting for berthing tugboat failed. As result, the vessel's hull was gashed. Repairs were subsequently done in the itinerary's ports of call (Mediterranean and Black Sea cruise).

  August 2004Ship Collision / Allision

On September 2, 2004, the vessel entered drydock for repairs after one of its 2 stabilizers was damaged in the pier collision accident in call port Invergordon Scotland.  The August 28 scheduled itinerary was cancelled. The ship resumed service on September 4, leaving from homeport from Kiel Germany.
