MS Bijou du Rhone cabins review
MS Bijou du Rhône (formerly Viking Pride) offers 75 cabins accommodating up to 155 passengers. All Middle and Upper Deck cabins are outside staterooms measuring 15 m² (160 ft²) and feature a double bed, bedside tables, ample under-bed storage for suitcases, dimmer lighting, a wardrobe with hangers, and a mirrored dressing table with two chairs. Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower, WC, wash basin, bath products, and bathrobe and slippers available on request. Additional amenities include a hairdryer, 26-inch flat-screen TV (satellite channels including CNN, CNBC, National Geographic, MGM, Sky Cinema, and real-time “View from the Bridge” webcam views), an electronic safe (in the closet), direct-dial telephone (onboard intercom), individually controlled air conditioning, and power outlets (220V / 110V). Complimentary bottled water is provided daily.
Lower Deck cabins are smaller (12 m² / 130 ft²) and feature two lower beds (one foldaway and one sofabed), which can be folded against the wall during the day to create additional space.
Lower Deck cabins have one non-opening window (quarter-height, near the ceiling). Middle Deck forward cabins originally had one opening window, but after the 2019 drydock refurbishment, all Deluxe staterooms (midship on the Middle and Upper Decks) were converted into French Balcony cabins with sliding glass doors opening to a railing (Juliet balcony).
None of the ship’s cabins have private balconies, and there are no Suites onboard. The vessel offers five cabin categories, each accommodating a maximum of two guests. All cabins are fitted with hotel-style beds (79 x 63 inches / 200 x 160 cm) that can be configured as twins if desired. All Standard (Category E) Lower Deck cabins (at river level) feature a sofabed (75 x 31 inches / 190 x 80 cm) and a Pullman bed (67 x 31 inches / 170 x 80 cm).
