Port Ancona (Italy) welcomed the MSC's cruise ship MSC Fantasia for her maiden call on Sunday, April 10th.
Every Sunday through September 4th (a total of 22x calls), tourists can choose to autonomously discover the Port and its Old Port area, the heritage, and natural parks above the sea or take advantage of the trips organized by MSC in the Marche region.
Vincenzo Garofalo (Central Adriatic Ports Authority's President) said that cruises were "a fundamental asset for the strategic development of the port of Ancona as the touristic gateway for discovering Marche Region."
"An opportunity that, to be seized, needs adequate infrastructures and we are working on it, in collaboration with the local Institutions”.
Cruise vacations are expected to have a prominent role in the summer season of the port of Ancona. A total of 44 calls are already scheduled from spring to December 2022.
