The German shipbuilding companies Meyer Group and Fassmer-Werft announced they had decided to jointly acquire the shipbuilding engineering company NEPTUN SHIP DESIGN in Rostock-Warnemunde Germany.
The company has ~100 employees and 30+ years of experience and clients all over the world will continue to operate independently in its current structure.
Additional jobs will be created in order to strengthen the engineering office, enabling NEPTUN SHIP DESIGN to continue to serve clients worldwide with its high level of expertise while implementing projects for the German shipyard groups.
MEYER & FASSMER are strengthening their focus on the development/construction of "highly complex special ships," on which the future market for newbuilds will concentrate.
This way, a couple of successful German specialized shipyards, both managed as family-owned companies, in the 7th and 5th generations, are committed to preserving qualified shipbuilding jobs.
Approval of the takeover by the Cartel Office is pending.
