ACL-American Cruise Lines is set to make a maritime splash in Punta Gorda FL, introducing its inaugural cruise with the arrival of the newest ship, American Glory.

Anchoring just a short distance from Fishermen’s Village, the vessel utilized a tender to transport guests ashore, bringing a wave of new visitors to Southwest Florida just in time for the festive season.

The itinerary allows passengers to explore Punta Gorda, providing an opportunity to experience local attractions such as the newly opened Sunseeker Resort. This addition to the cruise itinerary is expected to contribute positively to the community, fostering economic benefits for local businesses.

Captain Ralph Allen, owner of King Fisher Boat Tours, expressed optimism about the impact, stating:

"I don’t see much downside. I think everyone in business will benefit. I think the community benefited from the positive exposure."

While some shops at Fisherman’s Village were closed on Christmas day, visitors could still immerse themselves in the holiday spirit with the enchanting Fishermen’s Village Festival of Lights display. The festive atmosphere extends into the new year, with a welcoming event planned at Fisherman’s Village during the cruise line’s second visit on January 2nd. This maritime venture not only promises a delightful travel experience for passengers but also brings a boost to the local community and its tourism sector.
