The Disney Parks Blog has provided details regarding the forthcoming expansion of DCL-Disney Cruise Line's private island experience, known as Disney Lookout Cay, located on Eleuthera in The Bahamas. This expansion, set to launch this June, draws heavy inspiration from Junkanoo, a longstanding Bahamian festival known for its vibrant music, colorful displays, and lively parades.

Disney Lookout Cay aims to enhance the existing Lighthouse Point private island experience for Disney Cruise Line guests. Notable additions include the introduction of the Mabrika Cove Cabanas, offering shaded beachside lounging, and the True-True Too BBQ lunch area, featuring canopy structures resembling oversized seashells and adorned with nature-themed artwork.

Moreover, visitors can expect the convenience of a tram stop and the opportunity to explore local Bahamian offerings through onsite vendors.

Joey Gaskins, a member of the Disney Cruise Line team based in The Bahamas, was selected to author the Disney Parks blog post outlining these developments. In his statement, Gaskins expressed enthusiasm for guests to experience Disney Lookout Cay and engage with the rich cultural heritage of Eleuthera and The Bahamas, particularly through the lens of Junkanoo.

Furthermore, iconic Disney characters Mickey and Minnie Mouse will sport new attire designed by Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett, featuring color schemes inspired by Junkanoo.
