ACL-American Cruise Lines announced that its newest vessel - American Legend, embarked on the maiden voyage on Monday, November 25th. The ship is operating ACL’s new 8-day "Florida Gulf Coast & Keys" itinerary leaving roundtrip from St Petersburg, Florida USA.

Ports of call are in Florida and include Marco Island, Key West, and Punta Gorda, with an optional pre-cruise hotel stay available in Tampa.

Guests on the fully domestic voyage will enjoy shore excursions at every destination, including a full-day exploration of Dry Tortugas NP, showcasing the natural beauty and historical significance of Florida’s Gulf Coast and Keys.

As part of her inaugural week, American Legend hosted her official christening ceremony on Wednesday, November 27th, at Key West’s Mallory Square. The onboard event featured Danise "DeeDee" Henriquez (Key West Mayor) serving as the ship’s Godmother. Executives from ACL and the ship’s inaugural guests also attended. The voyage coincides with Thanksgiving, which will be celebrated onboard with a traditional holiday meal.

The American Legend is the company’s 19th newbuild and the 4th in its Coastal Cat series. The 5-deck boat exemplifies ACL’s continued focus on small-ship cruising, providing intimate and personalized experiences along the USA coastline. Legend is the second vessel introduced by ACL in 2024, following American Liberty.
