Man Rescued From Cruise Ship

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) rescued a man on Thursday, September 1, who was experiencing appendix pain one mile east of Port Canaveral.

The Coast Guard response boat out of station Port Canaveral medevaced the 33-yo man from Carnival Victory. CG Sector watchstanders from Jacksonville Command Center were notified on Thursday of a ship crew member experiencing appendix pain. The cruise ship rendezvoused with the USCG crew to transfer the suffering man at 6:22 p.m.

The crew member was transferred to EMS personnel, Jetty Park, at 6:57 p.m and immediately transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital. Carnival Victory was at the beginning of a 4-day, round-trip Bahamas cruise out of Port Canaveral.
