A 54-year-old Taiwanese man has been arrested by Philippine authorities after arriving aboard Star Cruises' ship Star Navigator on November 22nd, during a voyage from Kaohsiung (Taiwan China) to northern Philippines.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) identified him as Tsai Chin Hao, a former USA citizen who was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice and an active arrest warrant issued by U.S. authorities.

BI officers boarded the vessel and verified the alert with their Interpol unit while the ship was inbound. Once confirmed, they detained the man and handed him over to the Bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit at the Port of Currimao in Ilocos Norte.

Immigration authorities have initiated deportation proceedings in line with Philippine regulations and Interpol protocols.

Officials indicate that Tsai may be returned to Taiwan, unless the United States formally requests custody.
