Azamara Cruises has outlined its programme of Alaska Cruisetours for the 2027 season, following guest responses collected ahead of the brand’s scheduled return to Alaska in 2026. The programme integrates extended cruises along the Alaskan coast with guided land segments in Alaska and Western Canada, intended to provide a combined sea-and-inland itinerary under a single travel sequence.
The 2027 Cruisetours were developed with consideration of feedback indicating interest in more prolonged inland experiences in addition to coastal cruising. The operator structured these programmes to link time aboard ship with a series of coordinated land tours that include hotel stays, transfers, luggage handling, guided excursions, selected meals and admission to designated sites, designed to present a cohesive travel arrangement for passengers moving between maritime and land segments.
The Cruisetour offerings are assembled in conjunction with the line’s 10- and 11-night Alaska sailings and are available in 4-, 5- and 6-night configurations. One package, described as the Alaska Explorer Cruisetour, includes options both before and after the cruise, featuring travel into the interior of Alaska with excursions such as river navigation on a traditional sternwheeler along the Chena River, a historic rail journey in a Deluxe Dome car, and visits to Denali National Park accompanied by a Tundra Wilderness Tour. Additional components of this programme are a jet boat excursion in the Talkeetna area and cultural sessions at the Alaska Native Heritage Center.
Land extensions into the Canadian Rockies are also offered. One such sequence labeled the Canadian Rockies Cruisetour with Rocky Mountaineer GoldLeaf Service comprises a 5-night post-cruise rail journey through mountainous terrain, including passage through Banff National Park, along Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, and ascents aboard a scenic gondola. The SilverLeaf Service option follows the same rail corridor with panoramic window seating and meals served at the passenger’s seat, aimed at travellers seeking a variation in service level.
A longer inland option termed the Banff, Lake Louise & Whistler Cruisetour spans six nights as a pre-cruise segment, with travel from Calgary to Vancouver through Rocky Mountain landscapes, bear-viewing by specialised Land Rover vehicles, visits to Lake Louise and Banff, local wine tastings, and a concluding guided tour of Vancouver.
Certain Cruisetour departures are paired with transpacific sailings that begin in ports in northern Japan before crossing the Pacific to Alaska, allowing passengers to combine East Asian port calls with the subsequent Alaska and Canadian inland experience. In this manner, the overall 2027 programme is structured to provide a linked sequence of maritime and terrestrial travel across diverse regions while maintaining logistical continuity for passengers throughout the combined itinerary.
