RCI-Royal Caribbean has extended the suspension of cruise calls to its private destination of Labadee, Haiti, through June 2027, continuing a pause that began in April 2025 following the deterioration of the country's security situation.
RCI had previously removed all Labadee calls from its 2026 itineraries and has now prolonged the suspension by an additional 6 months.
The company stated that the decision followed an ongoing assessment of conditions in Haiti and its ability to operate responsibly. Royal Caribbean indicated that the extension was made with the safety and well-being of guests and crew members as the primary consideration and confirmed that affected passengers have been informed of the itinerary changes.
During the operational pause, RCI continues to support employees based at Labadee by reassigning them to positions across its fleet and other company destinations where possible. The company also noted that it remains committed to its workforce and local community while monitoring developments in Haiti.
Labadee, located on a private peninsula on Haiti's northern coast ~130 miles from Port-au-Prince, has been one of Royal Caribbean's signature Caribbean destinations for many years. The prolonged suspension reflects the company's continued caution as security concerns persist in the country.
