Viking has taken delivery of Viking Rota, the latest addition to its longship fleet, which will operate itineraries on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers in Europe.

The 3-deck vessel accommodates up to 190 guests and features Viking’s patented square bow, an indoor-outdoor Aquavit Terrace and an asymmetric corridor layout designed to accommodate 2-room suites. The ship offers 95 staterooms with Scandinavian-inspired interiors.

Viking Rota is scheduled to operate a range of European river itineraries, including the Grand European Tour, Danube Waltz, Rhine Getaway, Tulips & Windmills, Christmas on the Rhine and Danube Christmas Delights.

The delivery forms part of Viking’s broader fleet expansion program. The company is scheduled to take delivery of 18 additional river vessels by 2028, 11 ocean ships by 2032 and two expedition ships by 2031. According to the company’s current plans, this would bring its river fleet to 114 vessels in 2028 and its combined ocean and expedition fleet to 28 ships in 2032.
