The ports in Denmark expect their busiest year in cruise business. More than 1.1 million passengers will visit Denmark during 2018 cruise season, which is an all-time record.

This year, a record of 100000 passengers will go ashore in Aarhus and Skagen, Northern Denmark. The destinations Bornholm, Elsinore, Hundested and Kalundborg also announced a significant increase of cruisers during this season. In 2018, cruise companies will bring nearly 250000 passengers to Danish ports outside Copenhagen and the number has never been higher.

Even though ports outside Copenhagen boast an increase of cruise passengers, it is still port of Copenhagen that attracts most guests. Copenhagen is the biggest cruise destination in Northern Europe. With the anticipated 875000 cruise passengers this year, the capital expects to further strengthen popularity in the global market.

Port of Copenhagen

This cruise season will be the longest ever in Copenhagen. With a total of 215 days, just January, February and November don't have any cruise visits. In comparison, the season lasted 173 days in 2016.

Copenhagen will welcome 7 cruise ships during 2018 Christmas season this December, which is also a positive new figure.
