Saga Cruises announced that the official christening ceremony of line's first newbuild, Spirit of Discovery, will be held at Port of Dover July 5, 2019. It is also the first ship to be named at the port following the GBP 250 million redevelopment of Dover Western Docks.
The maiden voyage of Spirit of Discovery, A British First, sails from Dover July 10, 2019. The 999-passenger luxury ship will circumnavigate British Isles.
The inaugural cruise is already sold out and most 2019 itineraries are ahead of expectations with ship's 109 single staterooms proving extremely popular. The destinations aboard Spirit of Discovery throughout next summer include Spain, Scandinavia and Baltic, as well as a 4-night mini-cruise to Germany, Belgium and Holland.
In addition, Saga Cruises recently announced company’s strategy to move to all-inclusive cruising from 2020.
