Vasco da Gama to Be Named in Bremerhaven

The German unit of the UK-based CMV/Cruise & Maritime Voyages - TransOcean Kreuzfahrten, unveiled that its latest acquisition will be officially named Vasco da Gama during a ceremony to be held in Bremerhaven early April 2019.

The 1994-built cruise ship which started life as ms Statendam of Holland America and is currently sailing for P&O Australia as Pacific Eden is due to operate a summer season on the German cruising market prior to heading to Australia for a series of voyages during summer season there.

CMV Astor remains on the German market year-round following the entry into service of Vasco da Gama and will not be repositioned to Australia for summer season 2019-2020, the company announced.
