First Cruise Ship of Season Docks at Portland Port

The first cruise ship of the season docked at Portland Port - Isle of Portland (Dorset, England). The Hurtigruten-owned cruise ship ms Fridtjof Nansen arrived Monday morning, March 9.

Portland Port previously announced it is monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation ahead of the first arrival.

The cruise calendar of the port for 2020 was announced earlier this year, with the all-time high of 46 cruise ships bringing a record 79,102 cruise passengers to the port. The figure rises to more than 80,000 when the number of crew/staff is added.

Isle of Portland (Dorset, England)

With many travel restrictions imposed due to the spread of the Coronavirus, Portland Port said it was following government advice.

Hurtigruten’s Fridtjof Nansen arrived with 530 passengers onboard.
