The UK-based luxury travel brand Saga Cruises announced that the delivery of the newbuild Spirit of Adventure will be delayed and the inaugural cruise rescheduled.

The new vessel (sistership of Spirit of Discovery) had its maiden voyage planned for August 21.

A spokesperson for Saga Group commented that the construction progress had been "severely impacted by the workplace and travel restrictions in place as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic." He added that Saga had informed all booked customers and offers the opportunity of "amending over to the new date (for the inaugural cruise) once confirmed or to receive a full refund."
