Hamburg Germany is getting a new cruise terminal, although “temporarily” - for 10 years. The planned to start operations on July 1, 2020, Cruise Center Baakenhoft is located at Kirchenpauerkai (eastern HafenCity).
Baakenhoft is due to serve as an alternative cruise terminal for Cruise Center HafenCity, as this passenger terminal is going to be rebuilt and integrated into the new Shopping and Hotel complex in southern Uberseequartier (Overseas Quarter).
The opening of the new HafenCity Terminal is planned for 2023. As of July 1, 2020, all cruise ship dockings previously booked for Chicagokai (Cruise Center HafenCity) will take place at Baakenhoft.
