9 days into a 14-day Australia & New Zealand cruise, ms Noordam had to overnight in Napier due to "a minor mechanical issue", according to Holland America.

A statement from the line said that all hotel services onboard the ship were fully functional. Engineers made necessary repairs in port, and the vessel was scheduled to be underway as of 4:00 p.m. local time on Sunday, April 3.

The itinerary for the remainder of the cruise has been changed. The ship will arrive in Tauranga a day later and overnight there on Monday, April 4. Scheduled calls at Auckland and Bay of Islands (Waitangi) have been cancelled and all port taxes and fees will be refunded to passengers, as well as costs for shore trips booked through Holland America Line.
