04 July 2026Coast Guard Medevacs

(CruiseMapper-emailed report from Yuvin/received July 4, 2026)

I am currently on the Celebrity Ascent, and there was an emergency broadcast, presumably for a medical emergency, on deck 3. We stopped not far from Messina and they announced they are going to medevac.

I don't know much more yet as it just happened.

Note: The incident occurred during the 10-day "Italy, Greece and Croatia Cruise" (itinerary June 26-July 6, roundtrip from Civitavecchia-Rome) visiting ports in Kerkyra (Corfu Island, Greece), Katakolon-Olympia (Greece), Bar (Montenegro), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Split (Croatia), Messina (Sicily Island, Italy/July 4th, port stay 8 am- 7 pm), and Naples (Italy).
