On May 25, 2006, at ~6 am, the operated by Uniworld river cruise ship hit a bridge near Melk Austria.

The riverboat sustained both hull and interior damages (the onboard restaurant was wrecked, as well as furniture and TVs).

All the 111 passengers were disembarked and bused to Vienna Austria and Budapest Hungary. Several were injured and ambulanced to hospitals.

Note: Actually, this type of marine accident is called “allision” (striking a fixed object) as opposed to “collision” (striking another vessel).
