05 August 2022Ship Grounding

On August 5, 2022, the ship run aground near the mouth of Sogne Fjord and close to Ytre Sula Island (Vestland County, Solund Municipality), approx 80 km / ~50 mi northwest of Bergen.

When the accident occurred, the ship was not in ordinary service (without passengers) and left Hareid (Aug 4, at 11:20 UTC) en route to Bergen.

According to the Hurtigruten's statement, no one had been injured, there had been no danger to the crew, the ship remained stable and towing assistance was called. The engines and propulsion system remained fully operational and the Captain was in full control of the situation.

06 January 2009Ship Grounding

On January 6, 2009, at ~8 am, the ship ran aground in Trondheim (Norway). The accident resulted in propeller damage and leakage in a seal. All the 153 passengers were evacuated.

The vessel was very close to the docking pier, which allowed rescue operations to be conducted from land. The ship got stuck on a mud bank and local divers were sent to investigate for hull damages (none were detected),
