30 June 2026Propulsion / Power Loss(CruiseMapper-emailed report from Mark Craven, received July 1, 2026) Oceania Vista (1200 passengers) limped into Halifax after a 4 day trip from Reykjavik [departure June 25th]. No information has been given to on board guests as to the problem. Speculation was an engine problem, bad fuel from Iceland. Arrival in Halifax was delayed over 4 hours. Departure time was extended to midnight on Tuesday, June 30, but did not leave. Guests were told on Wednesday [July 1st] that back on board was to be 2:30 pm Wednesday with departure at 6 pm. No news of a departure since and no word of any kind to passengers or the service desk. This is the last week of a 180 day around the world trip with only NYC [July 2nd], Charleston [July 4th], and Miami [July 6th] as final destination. New York cannot be reached (500+ nautical miles) and NO information given to on board guests as to the status of ports of call, reasons for the delays, or the nature of any problems.
