On June 16, 2012, at ~9 pm, the operated by CroisiEurope riverboat suffered a fire accident. The ship was docked in Krefeld Germany and about to depart when a cable in the engine room caught fire, producing billowing smoke.
Krefeld's firefighting brigade sent 2 response teams, who quickly extinguished the fire. All the 154 passengers and 34 crew were evacuated and transported to a nearby restaurant, then re-boarded the ship at ~10:30 pm.
No injuries were reported. The boat remained in Krefeld until June 18. The incident occurred during the Rhine River cruise from Amsterdam Holland to Strasbourg France.
