Blue Sapphire cabins review
MS Saga Sapphire cruise ship offers a total of 382 staterooms accommodating 706 passengers (maximum capacity 748), and is served by 415 crew members. The vessel, built in 1981, features uniquely designed cabins—none are identical or standard production-line units. Staterooms are divided into 25 categories, including Standard Inside Single, 6 Royal Suites, 1 Owner’s Suite, 3 Grand Suites, and standard outside cabins (1 Suite, 2 Singles, 21 Doubles—all with lifeboat-obstructed views). There are also 6 wheelchair-accessible cabins.
Out of the 382 total cabins, 179 have bathtubs, with 20 of those also featuring showers. The ship offers 58 single-occupancy cabins, including 2 with balconies. A total of 65 cabins come with step-out balconies that are relatively narrow but still large enough for seating.
Standard cabin amenities (complimentary across all categories) include:
- Lower twin beds (some convertible to double/Queen-size), under-bed storage for suitcases, wall-mounted reading lamps
- Smart HDTV with DVD player (films available at The Academy), satellite channels, and a ship information channel
- En-suite bathroom with single-sink vanity, bathrobes, hairdryer, and toiletries
- Sitting area with mirrored dressing table/writing desk and stool, coffee table with armchairs, wardrobe, and large mirror; some cabins include a double sofabed (for a third/fourth passenger)
- Direct-dial telephone, electronic safe (in the closet), and mini-fridge
- Daily replenished bowl of fresh fruit
- Individually controlled air conditioning
- Dedicated cabin steward service, nightly turndown, and 24-hour room service
Suites and Superior cabin categories are more spacious, offering larger lounge areas and dining tables with two armchairs. Some also feature step-out balconies furnished with deckchairs.
