Galapagos Legend cabins review

The 1963-built cruise ship Galapagos Legend has a total of 56 staterooms, most of which are outside. Only three inside cabins (Standard Interior) lack windows, while the remaining seven Standard Plus cabins each have two small, round, non-opening portholes.

The majority of accommodations are Junior Suites, each featuring two large windows with nearly 10 ft (3 m) of window space. There are also 18 Balcony Suites, all with private step-out balconies and double or triple occupancy.

Suites accommodate double, triple, or quadruple occupancy and include premium amenities such as bathrobes, luxury-brand toiletries, sofas, minibars/refrigerators, Champagne upon arrival, and spacious verandas with deckchairs and tables. Balconies are accessed through sliding floor-to-ceiling glass doors. The largest stateroom, the Legend Balcony Suite, offers contemporary décor and furnishings, including outdoor furniture on the terrace.

All cabins are equipped with standard complimentary amenities: two lower single beds (convertible to one double bed), luxury bedding, a pillow menu with three pillow types, bedside tables with drawers, underbed storage for suitcases, wall-mounted reading lamps, a seating area with comfortable furniture, blackout curtains, a smart LCD TV with infotainment system, direct-dial phone with intercom and satellite connections, an electronic safe, lifejackets in the closet, and an en suite bathroom with toilet, shower, washbasin, towels, and hairdryer. All rooms are air-conditioned.

Standard Interior cabins come with a double bed convertible to twins. Standard Plus cabins feature two portholes near the ceiling and a convertible double bed.

Several water bottle filling stations are located throughout the ship. The Reception Desk in the lobby operates daily from 6:30 am to 10 pm. Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
