Mein Schiff Relax cabins review
Mein Schiff Relax is TUI's first vessel offering balcony cabins for singles/solo travelers. The bed is aligned to face the balcony, thus offering a direct view of the sea. The forward-positioned Solo Balcony staterooms are sized 11 m2/120 ft2.
With Schiff Relax, TUI also introduced two new cabin categories - Great Freedom Suite, and Weitblick Suite. Great Freedom Suite is a duplex apartment on two levels/floors (sized 88 m2/950 ft2) with max occupancy 6 people. The Great Freedom Suite has two bedrooms, two large terraces, two bathrooms (the upper-level/master bathroom has an infrared sauna). The Weitblick Suite has quad occupancy (max 4 people) and is sized 43 m2/460 ft2.

New cabin categories are Panorama Suite (deck 10 aft), Ubersee Suite (deck 14 forward), Horizont Suite (similar to Diamant Suite, deck 7 aft) and Schone Aussicht Suite (deck 10 aft).
- (Junior Suite Balkon) Junior Suites with balcony have 2 lower beds, 1 sofa bed, 1 double sofabed. Cabin furniture/amenities include a veranda with 1 table and 2 chairs, exclusive access to X Lounge and Suites-only sundeck, concierge service.
- (Familienkabine Balkon) Family Balcony cabins have 2 beds, 1 double sofabed, 1 Pullman bed, Xbox console, veranda (1 table, 4 chairs, 2 deck chairs). Curtains divide the living room and the bedroom.
- (Familienkabine Aussen) Oceanview Family cabins have 2 beds, 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed (or 2 single beds plus 1 double sofabed), separate living area, Xbox console. Curtains divide the living room and the bedroom.
- (SPA Balkonkabine) SPA cabins have a private balcony with 1 table and 2 chairs, 2 beds, 1 sofa bed, 1 double sofabed, direct access to SPA complex (forward on decks 11 and 12), complimentary SPA treatments (90 min for two adults - head massage, facial, shoulders-neck-back massage, foot massage, foot bath), complimentary 20-min infrared cabin (per adult guest), luxury SPA products and top-line cosmetics (by La Mer and Babor), 1 beach bag PP, SPA towels, linens, bathrobes.
- (Premium Verandakabine) Premium Balcony cabins have a private veranda with 1 hammock, 1 table, 2 chairs, 2 loungers, 2 beds, 1 sofabed.
- (Kombi Balkonkabine) Combined Balcony staterooms are located across from the Diamanten (Great Freedom) and have each a private balcony (1 table, 4 chairs). This type is a connecting cabin category. 2 or 3 staterooms could be booked as one and linked together, offering more family- and party experience. Each has 2 beds, 1 sofa bed, 1 double sofabed.
- (Balkonkabine) Balcony rooms have a veranda with 1 table, 2 chairs, plus 2 beds, 1 sofa bed (or 1 double bed).
- (Aussenkabine) Oceanview/Outside cabins have 2 beds, 1 sofa bed, 1 double sofabed.
- (Innenkabine) Inside cabins have 2 beds, 1 sofa bed, 1 double sofabed (or Pullman beds).
Bonus services (TUI cruise price-inclusive for all Suite cabin categories) are: free Internet access, complimentary mini-bar (fridge with free drinks /replenished daily), Xbox gaming console, concierge service (packing/unpacking, daily newspaper, dinner reservations at specialty restaurants, SPA reservations, private land tours/shore excursions and parties), priority services (check-in, embarkation, disembarkation, tendering), in-room dining (hot/cold snacks and fresh fruits /between 7 am - 7 pm), exclusive Suites-only access to the X-Lounge (with Champagne and brand alcohol drinks) and private sundeck (sunbathing area).
All Schiff Relax staterooms offer as standard amenities 2 single beds (1 double bed), bedside cabinets (with drawers and reading lamp), sofabed (or 1-2 Pullman beds), smart HDTV (satellite reception, infotainment system with on-demand movies, Internet, ship info channel), direct dial phone, wardrobe, electronic safe box (in the closet), minibar, Nespresso coffee machine (2 capsules are included per day), water carafe with glasses, mirrored dressing table (writing desk) with chair, en-suite bathroom (WC, shower, single-sink vanity, hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, bath products - shower gel, shampoo, conditioner), individually controlled air-conditioning, 24-hour room service.
